Everything is working as expected now, thank you very much.
Do you have SSH access to it?
When I"m on my Qnapp on SSH and I try to go to PlexData I get the followin
[/share] # cd /PlexData/
-sh: cd: /PlexData/: No such file or directory
I see it there put with a @ at the end. So not sure what I might be doing wrong
app.plex.tv still says “server … is unreachable”
accessing Synology NAS via web-app (ip:32400/web/) says “you do not have acces to this server” (Du hast für diesen Server keine Zugriffsberechtigung).
ip:32400/identity tells me: claimed=“0” but I have no option claim it via webb access.
Type cd /share/PlexData
Hi,
Since the issues I have resetted my password and followed all procedures.
My Plex on Synology is functional, with web-client I can login and I see my account is logged in at plex.tv etc. All seems to work fine.
However, for some mysterious reason, my Plex app/client on smartphone Galaxy is unable to login anymore. I’m 200% sure I used the exact email-adress + password but I always get the authentication error.
On my server, I also removed the Galaxy phone from the “authorized devices” list which should be OK, I get the message I need to login again on that endpoint)
I’ve cleared the app-cache, removed all the data from the app etc, etc.
How to troubleshoot such specific issue?
I finally got working for my Synology NAS. I didn’t need to edit the preferences file after all. I had already reclaimed my Windows 10 server. It was the NAS I was having issues with.
It was “AvandeL” who suggested:
You should check the QNAP-NAS if the plex app is running then try in your local network to access it by its ipadres (instead of LOCALHOST) and the following
http://localhost:32400/web/index.html#!/
I simply put my IP address as suggested so e.g. 192.XXX.X.XXX (the X represents my numbers but I didn’t enter in this exchange) followed by the 32400/web/index.html#1/. So it was this:
http://192.XXX.X.XXX:32400/web/index.html#!/. That brought up the login page. I entered my new credentials and was able to claim my NAS/Synology. I then went in. Everything was there.
So I didn’t need a new certificate. I didn’t need to edit the preferences.xml file. All I did was do as the person mentioned here in this posting said to do and was able to bring everything back.

Not working
And you did as instructed create the share, followed by a PMS restart?
I have tried but when I try to make the Share as per the instructions is says the name already exists
Thx for the suggestion but that’s pretty basic and yes I’ve done that about a dozen times since yesterday, always hoping that after the Plex server decongest, that it might work. Unfortunately still not working.
In fact the screenshot I posted is exactly what I get when I use that local host address: I go to my Plex Server App in the QNAP NAS (locally connected in home network), and click the ‘Open’ button, which opens that local address in a browser, with the error of the screenshot.
I’m guessing this is addressed at me?
Did that already. I get the exact same error I posted in the screenshot.
And I can’t access the PlexData folder at all, neither from Windows or the NAS.
ClaimIt doesn’t work, nor does Putty (I’m on Win10)…any other suggestions??
It’s beyond my capabilities. I have SSH switched on on the NAS but don’t have a clue how to access it and what to do when I’m in
I got my libraries back!!! All I had to do was this, that I found in a thread where someone was stuck in the same loop as me with having Plex keep wanting to install PMS even though it wasn’t installed. When I did this, I finally got the option to claim my server, and all is up and running!!! Here is the very simple instruction:
In order to complete the setup you need to open your Plex Media Server through its local IP.
If you’re on the machine… open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web in your browser. If you’re on a different machine inside your home network, use http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web instead. This will bring up a wizard/dialog where you can name your server and link it to your Plex account (as well as creating your first libraries).
Once you “claimed” your server (=linked it to your Plex Media Account), you’ll also be able to access it from other Plex apps or via http://app.plex.tv/desktop.
Then I think all attempts you undertake from your current position and no able person at home to help, the only thing you can do is wait until you get home. Or you start talking with the person at home, teach her/him to take the steps for you if it is really needed.
I guess when you are a long time away from home, it is very difficult to miss your favorite shows… Sorry…
You could try to install teamviewer and get remote access to the pc at home, then the person at home would not have to alter ports in your modem… Does this helps?
Please show me a screen capture from QTS File Sharing

I haven’t change my password and today couldn’t play my media which is on a HDD connected to Shield TV.
Got an error ‘no Internet connection’ when there is an Internet connection.
Used KODI to play movies.
Actually this is what I did and manage to sort it out
Thanks for your help.
I’m glad you managed it. ![]()
Sorry, but it’s mandatory
