Can someone post up a link to an older working version? I just started trying to use this so I don’t have one to roll back to.
Same problem here on MacOS. A temporary working workaround is to log off and log back in.
I am having the same issue,
@Plex team, would you please investigate the issue asap, as I can see a lot of users and subscribents are affected and we have no update since beginning of the issue.
Just adding my own 2 cents here, not sure when it started specifically but it’s annoying as hell. Running incognito mode gets me in initially until I refresh the page, then it’s back, showing 2 dashboards and the error.
Yes, I realize I can run the web app, no that is not an acceptable “Solution”. It’s a bandaid and an incredibly underwhelming one at that.
2012R2 server running on VMware.
I do not have a local browser on my Plex server (Linux server). So I connect to the IP of the server to hit my server. My server would run… but it would not connect to the library. Which seemed very odd to me. I got the “claim server” prompt and “No soup for you” (funny how cute error messages are not cute when happening to you) messages. Was seeing server HTTP errors connecting to the pubsub server (guessing here). Examined my Preferences.xml file and noticed the field ‘allowedNetworks’. Looked that up on support and set my IP/netmask, and now I have my library back.
TLDR; Try setting Preferences key ‘allowedNetworks’ with a ip/netmask. You’ll have to check support to find Preferences location for your OS. e.g. “192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0”
Not running https.
Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS
Same issue for me as well. Seems to be wide spread and I’m really surprised this isn’t being looked at.
If I try to access my server without https over local IP it seems to work. If I try to access it via plex.tv is also seems to work.
If I try via https on my own domain it does NOT work. I sometimes get undefined, it sometimes looks like it’s going to work but then I get No Soup For you when trying to access the dashboard or any settings.
Anybody at Plex seeing this?
Same!!!
On my desktop (where PMS is) I get the no soup for you can’t find server error) logout/ in fixes it once. Plexweb works fine. Been doing this for months, but oddly enough, I have no issues otherwise as far as Using Plex here at home to stream my media on Roku
Hmm.
For me, it must be a weird issue with chrome. On my Windows 8.1 desktop where my PMS is located, I changed the default browser from Chrome to Firefox, opened Plex and it opened with no issues. With Chrome, I get the no soup for you message…and I have to log out and back in for the server to come up with no errors.
Add me to those having trouble. I run plex on a windows 10 box, proxied by nginx for https offloading. Connecting from the server to localhost:32400 works ok, but I get weird no soup errors when using an internal ip like 192.168.0.11:80 or the external ip like https://customdomain.com:8080/web/.
So, I was having this issue, and I think I figured out why, at least in my case. I still had Plexpy running on the same server and I think that was screwing it up. Once I removed Plexpy, this issue stopped. I think it was conflicting with the newly integrated dashboard features, perhaps? I hope this helps anyone else who is having this issue.
Same issue here! I have tried uninstalling completely… deleting any reminiscence of plex - then installing.
Just updated to 1.15.4 and still seeing the duplicate activity and “No Soup For You” error.
With how long it’s taking for Plex to fix this… I might be trying Emby soon.
I am experiencing every single thing you just described on my linux server. It’s terrible!
same here… having to rollback to earlier version. has issue been acknowledged by plex yet?
I am having the exact same issue. https://app.plex.tv/desktop works. local address shows 2 streams even though one is playing and both streams show the server like it’s a duplicate server. https:// to local ip seems to sort the dashboard but the local network clients are all constantly failing. half way through a stream it will suddenly tell me “unable to play” or "server not fast enough or cannot find server. if I click select server…well there it is…and then media starts again…all the clients loose connection at the same time no matter windows/Android/IOS. it’s like the server is authenticating or something every few minutes and thats when it terminating streams.
it has made plex basically un-usable for me now. Do updates not get tested? really sometimes it seems like they don’t.
server windows 2016. it is not due to a local network change. nothing has changed. All my game servers and applications carry on flawlessly. this is really crazy.
C’mon Plex!!! This is a bloody joke! This problem has now existed for a few months. Get off your arses and fix the issue!!! It affects all platforms so the same code is to blame here. 3 months is far too long to wait for an issue of this magnitude to NOT be resolved. Bloody ridiculous really.
This issue has been nagging for so long I’m getting used to EMBY. Will be looking for a change when my plan expires. Sorry but eat ■■■■ PLEX
Same Issue here. server is on Windows 10, latest Plex build 1.15.4.919, been happening for a while now and impacting most of my users outside my network. ever time it happens I need to logout and back in to the server on the box, but then it only works until I close the browser.
Plex is radio silent on this, with for me is an issue.
I can weigh in with a ‘me too’. Plex became completely unusable as I disassociated my server to try and fix the issue and then could not access the content again (The no soup/missing server issue)
I started by removing the server (deleted server under settings/authorized devices) and if I tried to reclaim it I would get the no soup error. Some content was accessible before I reclaimed it, but not all eg live TV. Not a solution though, as an unclaimed server still existed. Once claimed I’d get the ‘No Soup’ error.
Previous to that point it was showing as though it had 2 duplicate servers (eg live TV recordings were showing as occurring twice, simultaneously in the activity icon), and occasional other ‘no soup’ errors, which would mean I’d have to log in/out to resolve - which had got me started on trying to fix this annoyance the first place.
Server is Debian 9.8/Stretch, client Ubuntu/Chrome - same subnet. Plex server 1.15.4.919-8e2884e4b (but it had been happening with previous versions)
I believe I have got it up and running, but time will tell. The only solution I found was to delete the Preferences.xml file on the server, re-associating it and then doing a bunch of the setup steps again.
Same here every time I load the Tautulli (plexpy) page when there are streams going it messes up the plex server and shows double the streams and I can’t get past the plex start page
