PMS stopped picking up new files yesterday, scan files flicks on for a second then off. Can’t find any obvious errors in the log - any pointers where I should look?
Exisitng files already scanned into the database work fine. Refresh all metadata seems to do a full scan of the directory but adds nothing new.
It seems your server is having trouble reading files from your I:\ drive (I:\TV, I:\TV2, I:\Movies).
There’s no specific details as for what’s causing this. Can you double-check your media drive is still mounted/mapped to that drive letter?
side note / off topic: your configuration for Settings > [Server Name] > Network > List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth contains a leading space character and is therefore not recognized
Thanks for the suggestion, but yes it’s still mapped to I: and files stored on that drive are playing perfectly fine in Plex so it can still read it, at least to play from it?
I was having the exact same issue, upgraded to 1.32.0.6865 on 4/4 and my scanner quit working and would no longer pull in new files. I ended up going back to 1.31.3.6868 and all is good at the moment.
Here’s my zip from yesterday, before I downgraded and fixed it. Hopefully someone can figure out what the issue was as it will probably happen again next time the server updates?
Thanks, in case you missed it, I fixed the problem by downgrading my PMS version - the one released on 4/4 seems to have introduced some kind of issue?
I’d like to chime in on this. Since I updated to Plex beta 1.32.0.6865 on Windows 10 at the start of last week, Plex has stopped scanning and adding new files.
All data that was already added in the folders is still recognised and can be played, but no new file will be added.
It’s not library specific. It’s not NAS specific.
You try to force a refresh, and the client runs for a fraction of a second and then stops.
It sounds like I need to look into how to downgrade plex without losing my libraries and sync status…
If Plex would like server logs, those logs shouldn’t contain any personal information like emails, IP addresses and usernames, which I can see scattered all over the files.
I’ve reviewed and filtered what appear to be the relevant logs linked to the error. @anon18523487 hopefully this provides a little context.
Same issue for me since upgrading. Directly attached storage scans no problem, network attaches storage no longer scan for new. I can still play files that had previously been scanned on my network drives, just can’t scan for new media.
