After latest update of QNAP and Plex Media Server, cannot connect to server

Hi,

I’ve recently updated my QNAP TS-453A to firmware version 4.3.6.0895 and the Plex Media Server to version 1.15.3.876 x64.

Now I can no longer access the Plex media Server, Firefox returns the error “Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at 192.168.0.20:32400.”. Plex media player on my Samsung TV states that the server is unavailable.

The media server was working fine before the upgrade. I have tried via the QNAP web interface to remove Plex media Server but it won’t remove it. I can view the files on my NAS device so there doesn’t appear to be any network connectivity issues and I haven’t made any network changes.

When I look in the QNAP System Event logs I can see:

Severity Level Date Time Users Source IP Application Category Content
Information 2019/04/07 15:31:25 System 127.0.0.1 — --- Plex Media Server hasn’t been enabled or started…

I have also tried rebooting my NAS box but there is no change in behaviour.

Are there any compatibility issues with the latest version of QNAP firmware?

Kind Regards,

Paul

Update:

After reverting back to the version of QNAP firmware I’d done the upgrade from (version 4.3.5.0760) the Plex Media Server still appears to be unavailable.

Is there a manual method for reverting the Plex Media Server to a previous revision, the last revision that worked successfully on ym NAS was: 1.14.1.5488.

Further Update: after power cycling the QNAP with the older version of firmware, Plex Media server now operates. Performing the same action with the latest release of QNAP firmware the media server fails to startup. Looks like it’s a QNAP firmware issue.
