After new install of latest Plex version, Plex cannot see my Synology

Server Version#:4.75.0
Player Version#:

As above, for some reason after giving the correct permissions using system internal user to the PlexMediaServer folder and those with the media I still have the issue where it cannot see my server?

Thanks

What do you mean by “not seeing your server”?
Is this about the server generally not showing up or failing to recognize your media? I take it you’re accessing the newly installed(?) server through its local IP address in order to finish the setup / link it to your account…

When going to the control panel within Plex the name of my server is there however it spins and tries to connect but can’t. When I go to the Plex icon within the Synology server and use that to connect it tries to go to a 10.0.0 address.

How do I get Plex to pick up the right IP?

Opening the server from within Synology supposedly uses the Syno‘s local IP address… http://[Syno IP address]:32400/web

Isn’t 10.0.0.x the local IP address of your Syno?

Mines a 192 address which is probably why it’s not seeing the server.

You need to be on the same subnet to complete the server setup.
Any particular reason why you keep the Syno on a different one?

Hi Tom,

There was no reason, it’s a home network and primarily the devices all sit on the same subnet. For some reason Plex (rather than the Synology server) was trying to attach itself to a 10.0.0.0 range. I tried connecting via another device this morning and it allowed me to setup and see the Synology so all working now thanks. Must have been a momentary issue after installing.
