After updating to 1.18.1.1973 on NAS, cannot claim server

Server Version#:1.18.1.1973
Player Version#:

So, my Plex server that is on my Synology NAS stopped showing up on my nVidia shield TV and all devices. I thought that possibly upgrading to the latest edition would fix the issue. That did not help. I have followed pages and pages of threads and steps in the FAQ’s with no luck finding the server. (such as checking network settings and ensuring permissions set to allow Plex to read folders, etc) I then uninstalled Plex and reinstalled Plex. Now I can find the server but it will not let me claim the server. I have tried SSH with no such luck as well. Please help.

Hello,

Not to mention plex, your Synology NAS is accessible from a PC?

Yes, my NAS is accessible from a PC.

Q16 - I am having trouble with this step. Not quite sure what I am doing wrong but when I do connect by opening up a Terminal and typing in these commands it keeps coming back with this directory/file doesn’t exist.

I have ensured SSH is enabled, copied the claimpms.sh file to the NAS and tried typing out the filepath as well as the file directory (taken right from right clicking the file properties). I am currently at work but I will post some screenshots tonight when I get off work.

Okay, will do tonight and post my results. Thank you trumpy81

Thank you very much for the help trumpy81. I followed all of the steps. Still had to jump through 50 more hoops though it seems. Uninstalled Plex again and reinstalled but changed my DNS to 8.8.8.8 and alternate to 8.8.4.4 so I think that finally did it. Super frustrating that this worked just fine for a year, other than goofy nvidia shield updates causing playback freezing (that is another story). Not sure why so many steps to get working again but oh well, it is back up and running now. Thanks again.
