yup I can confirm im using 3 different generations, basically the last 3 Apple TV models and only one is on Wifi, same issues exist on all 3 but to different degrees … hopefully now Plex developers or employees have seen it for themselves im hoping this gets solved, before Disney and Amazon run out…

Apple has fixed the issue with AirPlay over Ethernet in tvOS 17.1, there’s no need to switch to Wi-Fi to get the old audio engine to work anymore. No changes from Plex, though, so we’re back to the status quo.

I think switching to this would solve so many problems with the Apple TV and the iOS devices with regards to compatibility. This is including DV and HDR support and probably the audio issues as well.

I think I’m having this issue. I posted here last December and included the logs and further testing shows that this is only happening on the Apple TV that uses the paired HomePods. If I turn on the old audio engine on that Apple TV I don’t have audio problems with Plex and I don’t have audio problems on the Apple TV that uses the HDMI connected Sony speakers. Both Apple TVs are on TVOS 17.3 and Plex Player 8.31.
