All Rotten Tomatoes reviews are showing the "rotten" icon even though it should be the "fresh" icon

Server Version#: 1.20.3.3483-211702a9f
Player Version#: 4.45.0

  • List item The Rotten Tomatoes reviews, which are shown under the cast names in Plex Web, show either the red “fresh” or the green “rotten” icons based on the ratings given by the critic. However, for the movie “The Day of the Jackal (1973)”, all the reviews are showing the green “rotten” icon even though the critics have given it a positive review and the Rotten Tomatoes website itself shows the red “fresh” icon. The rating itself is correct, and the reviews are shown correctly too, it’s just the tomato icons that are showing up wrong. Please fix this issue.

I’ve got Player 4.46.1 and Server Version 1.20.4.3517 - with same weird issue. Very positive text reviews show green “rotten” icon. The overall ratings look right but the reviewer ratings are all rotten.

This is also happening to me. The overall rating for the film is correct, but the individual review snippets all show “rotten” icons even when they show “fresh” icons on the Rotten Tomatoes website.

same here

Noticed this a while back, and the issue still exists. Posting to keep the topic active. Hope this gets worked out in a future update.

Yup, I just noticed today when I was reading what appeared to be a positive review but had it as “rotten”.

Same issue here.

Which “Scanner” and “Agent” are your libraries configured to use?

I’m not seeing this with the “Plex Movie” Scanner and Agent on the latest PMS. I just refreshed metadata on a few movies, got updated info, and see the expected Tomato & Splat as appropriate.

This has been going on for some time on my W10 PC. I only recently updated the PMS on my W10PC to 1.20.5 as I was running an older version because it was stable and reliable and I was afraid to upgrade. It didnt matter though as the behavior with the rotten splat icon didnt change. It was only showing splats with the old PMS version and it only shows splats now.
Whether on my PC accessing PLEX via browser v4.43.4 or on my Nvidia Shield running the PLEX app only splats show.

My Agents for Movies are configured:
Agents / Movies / Plex Movie (Legacy)
The Following are checked, in order
Plex Movie (Legacy)

Sub-Zero Subtitles
Cinematerial
Fanart.tv
Local Media Assets (Movies)

Maybe Plex Movie & Plex Movie (Legacy) produce different results?
Just spitballing, dont really have a clue.

Can we not turn their SHlT off? How can these losers hate Scarface (1983) WTF? So sick of it.

I want to toggle the off completely and forever but they have their back up against this it would seem. Don’t understand why anyone would want some elses opinion of their own library anyway, especially when they hate every damn movie you have!

I’d say that changed around 2-3 weeks ago, I’m not sure if thee was any PLEX update around that time but definitely all Rotten Tomatoes reviews are now incorrectly displayed with associated ‘rotten’ icon, ALL of them. There must be a bug somewhere and I just hope it is easy to fix. It should be!

All my RT reviews display with the rotten Splat even if they’re fresh. So same here. I’ve noticed the issue before. I’m using Windows server.

I’m having the “splat” next to “fresh” reviews issue as well. Fwiw (In response to another comment), I find rotten tomatoes rating very useful.

Ditto on my Mac with the most recent server update.

I wish that staff would at least acknowledge this issue. I can’t imagine it would be difficult to fix this.

I had the same problem.

I followed the steps in “Upgrading a Movie library to the use the new Plex Movie Agent” article on Plex Support site, and that solved it for me.
