Hm…that must mean it’s gotten worse in the recent versions as my server running 1.25.1.x IS recording “new series episodes” just fine (that’s actually how I’m working around a few team events - ex: all new nba games restricted to the Celtics’ regional sports network)
Same problem here. DVR recordings for “All [team] Events” that I used last season are not picking up on new games this season. Can someone at Plex please acknowledge the issue?
For the record, I’m running PMS in a docker container. This has worked just fine in the past. I don’t know when it broke.
Would love to see an answer on this topic. I’m evaluating whether PLEX DVR can replace my current solution. A non-functioning “team pass” schedule is a problem. BTW I’m running 1.25.6.5577-7000 on a Synology NAS.
As is the case more often than not, Plex can’t even do the minimum here. An easily repeatable bug is reported and Plex can’t even be bothered to acknowledge it. Plex, this is why I am so constantly critical about your lack of interest in the basic day to day problems that users have with a paid feature.
The lack of response tells me the Plex DVR is not ready for prime-time. Hopefully this changes in the future, but for now I will stick with ChannelsDVR.
I’m not a big user of this feature but it has worked when I have tried.
Posting log bundles with detail about the scheduled recording not recording will be required to see why something isn’t being recorded.
Since @Toinky posted his, I can say his issues are related to not having cleared out his scheduled recordings when Plex switched from Rovio to Gracenote for EPG last year.
With all the recent changes in channel numbering, EPG and such additional cleanup might be required.
In my case, this is a new Plex server. Here’s the scenario: I see a Philadelphia Union game is on the schedule, so I go to set up the recording.
I want to record ALL Union games. I find this weekend’s upcoming broadcast in the guide
I have the options to Record This Event/All MLS Soccer Events/All Philadelphia Union Events/All (whatever the opponent team is) Events
If I choose “All MLS Soccer Events” a repeating schedule of recordings is created
If I choose “All Philadelphia Union Events” then Plex says “No upcoming airings”
So, it’s not that the scheduled recording fails, it’s that the recordings don’t get scheduled for the selected teams. Basic DVR functionality, but it doesn’t work.
I dug a little into the database to try and back into what’s going on…though didn’t get too far since I don’t think there’s a way to see how the server actually uses any of this info. If anyone knows how to do that, I’m all ears
Anyway, when you set any other recording (either a whole show or a single airing of something), a subscription is added to a table with a metadata type of either show, season, or episode and then there must be a process that matches those records to the EPG to find what airings need to be recorded (the EPG is a separate db but each airing has a guid that’s valid across the two) since there’s a “subscription needed media” list where the guid is the next airing and sub_id is the subscription you set.
What’s interesting is that these team-based rules are stored as playlists, not shows, seasons, or episodes…probably would be where I’d start debugging since it’s never finding a guid of an event to be a part of that playlist. The subscription records look the same across the two servers I have (one functional, one broken) so I don’t think it’s missing information…it just seems like it’s not looking for anything.
Same thing here
i try to create a only one time event on Wednesday, and it appear on list, but the today and tomorrow events appears on guide as scheduled, but not in All events, so i missed the today program and i cannot record manually because it’s marked as scheduled
