Scheduled recordings in DVR no longer has any upcoming airings

Server Version#: 1.13.6.5339

Hi, so ever since I upgraded the server to 1.13.6.5339, the Recordings page for my DVR has gone blank. There’s literally one lousy show that shows up to still be recorded. If I go to the Guide, I can see the shows I want recorded with the red circles… but on the Recordings page, pretty much everything (other than that one show and another “one off” recording I had scheduled) is blank.

I’ve tried deleting and adding the DVR, but still the problem persists. Does anyone have any ideas? I don’t see any relevant errors in the logs either…

I use an HDHomeRunPrime in my setup, FYI…

I am having the exact same issue. Only one show is recording. I was able to record something not on my already set shows. It started after the upgrade. Same tuner also. I did have a firmwaee update on the prime. But i only did that in my troubleshooting.

Logs posted would be helpful. With out them the only thing I would suggest is look at the shows in the guide that have the recording icon and then look in your library to see if you already have the same episode. Right now I have very little recordings being made either because I already have the vast majority of the episodes airing. If this is the case for your situation you should see lines similar to the ones below in your logs:

Hi @johnm_ColaSC that is not hte issue, as the shows are nightly news shows, that are “new” every night… there’s no repeats… There is definitely something wrong, but nothing is showing up in the logs…

the only type of log entry that resembles an error are lines that say "EPG[onconnect]: Failed to retrieve universal details for ". I get lots of those, but they’re not really for the things I have set to record…

The guide literally shows everything fine, but as I said, NONE of my series are showing with any upcoming episodes except literally one… everything is blank for this week on the Recordings page, and I know for a fact that’s wrong… and it all started with this latest release… Any other ideas? Something specific I can give you to help troubleshoot? I’m happy to provide entire logs if you’d like, though I’d like to do that securely somehow as it does contain many usernames and such…

Have you checked the settings then for The Rachel Maddow Show? From the log message I am guessing you have HD Only selected in the Advanced options and the show may not be reporting it is HD in the guide data.

Interesting… so you think the guide data is no longer reporting all these shows as HD?

And interestingly, as it turns out, the one show that seems to be working, I left the resolution as “Any”… well that’s annoying… thanks, I think this was likely the issue!!!

I have exactly the same issue (as described by the original poster) and I can confirm that all of my recordings are set to “ANY” resolution so this suggestion above is NOT the problem. It is simply broken and needs fixing.

What does the Plex Media Server log files say about the recording when it tries to scheduled the episodes?

I’m also seeing some absolutely baffling behavior from plex around HD scheduling this patch. Setting it to ‘any’ in some cases records in SD, which is highly irritating .

HD homerun based in the UK if that’s relevant.

I ended up finding the cause of the issue I was experiencing. The shows which were not recording were set to “New airings only” instead of “New and Repeat airings”. So that is good.

I’ve seen the same issue with a few programs. Setting one from the guide resulted in nothing showing for upcoming airings. Changing to “new and repeat” then sets the episodes but I don’t want new and repeats, just the new episodes. An example of this would be Home and Away in the UK which shows the same new episode twice each day.

I’ve got the issue with just one show; Late Night w Colbert. Needs to be set for New & Repeat for anything to be recorded. Gracenote problem?

All other shows seem to be OK.

I have also the same issue, and I’ve included some log snippets. Seems like a bug and what I ended up doing as a work around was go back through our Scheduled Recordings List (though painful) and manually edit each recording and set the resolution to “Any” and go into the advanced settings and change the “Limit To Channel” from Any to the HD channel from my provider and… BAM!! all my recordings started to show up. Hope the devs can get out a patch to fix this right away.

I had v1.13.7.5379 and then updated to v1.13.8.5388 and that didn’t fix the issue.

I’m seeing something similar. I’ve scheduled new airings of Colbert. It doesn’t show up in the upcoming recordings, but the recordings still happen. I’ve had this recording scheduled for over a year and it this issue just started happening a few weeks ago

was this issue ever resolved? mine just started happening a few days ago (around 9/25-9/26). I’m hoping to not have to re-set the recordings to Any resolution and select the exact HD channel, just in case one of the shows changes networks or one of the networks changes channels. Has there been a permanent fix?

I ran into a similar issues on my Windows bases server running Version 1.13.8.5395. All my recordings were set to HD and showed no upcoming recordings. When I changed the settings to Any as @stang9550 they all showed in the schedule again. Today I wanted to double check it was still working and noticed The Walking Dead was not on the schedule. I went to the guide and it was showing as a new airing as that is how I have it set to record. I changed the setting from New Only to New and Repeat and the new episode showed up on the. There’s obviously something going on and wish it would be addressed.
