I seem to have an odd issue. I upgraded plex to 9.15.1 on Ubuntu and all of a sudden 95% of my TV show episodes are using the Series poster rather than a thumbnail from the actual show. Anyone know if there is an easy way to tell plex to use the episode picture instead (in bulk)?

Can you provide a screen shot? Episode use a widescreen format while the series poster is well a poster. Can you also provide a screen shot of the files showing the show directory, the season directory, and then the individual files?

Notice how the selected image is the poster for the show? This is how 100% of my series are current set. This happened right after an upgrade.
Missing is the screenshot of the actual folder structure and file names used (not from inside plex).
You have tagged your episodes with tags that include a poster and your scanner is set to personal media files on the top (or before thetvdb) ?
Nope – no tags being used at all. This was something that right after an upgrade EVERY tv episode for every show in my library switched over to using its show poster.
No thoughts? Is there at least a way to reset the posters without resetting my entire database?
My guess is that you have a hidden file of that poster somewhere. Find the poster, remove it, and it should just update your images back to normal. If not, a Plex Dance might be necessary, but you need to find that file first.

Note - there is “no hidden” file. All new shows are working fine. This is only for any show that was in the system during the update.
Problem is – that basically resets all of the watch status too – something I’d like to avoid
That will not impact your watched status.

Sigh – this doesn’t seem to work. I have done the dance 3 times now. There HAS to be a better way to tell plex to reprocess thumbnails.
If the dance isn’t working then you must have the image as a file somewhere near your media files. Check that they are not embedded in the files themselves.
