I keep my movies set across the board in the agents section to use online DBs everywhere. Local assets are at the bottom.
Should I have a custom poster, I give it the standard “*.jpg” name in the directory and then edit as usual, dragging and dropping to force it.
A forced refresh metadata doesn’t often or predictably reveal the new poster.
Q is…what is the magic combination of agent ordering that essentially always uses a folder.jpg if there, otherwise uses internet databases. I have played with the agent orders for personal media, plex movie, and TMDB but it seems to be no metadata at all (ie: even movie names are just the filenames) or everything.
The behavior I wish is to ALWAYS use a folder.jpg if present, otherwise hit the net. Nothing middle.
No - you 've missed the point. LMA is enabled across the board and is the #1 choice under Personal Media. Even with it #2 for Plex Movie and TMDB, it still does not automatically pickup. It seems to need the 1 slot across the board or nothing. That then does not pick up the other items. I’ve been moving its priority around and am not achieving the result I wish…?!
I can see what you’re talking about.
Would you mind holding this open, keeping an eye on it, while Engineering starts deploying the new scanner / metdata agents?
There is a great deal of functionality in flux at the moment. We might be seeing a small issue as a result of this massive changeover already in progress.
I would like to look at this in much greater depth when they’ve finished the TV & Movie portion of their work.
Surely. Personally, I have always found the agent setup not intuitive. The same scanners in different areas with different rankings…? Why not just a single movie scanner with sources in it, ranked? Some checkmark boxes too so one can enforce things…a’la “Always use local artwork first if present”… A greedy ask but it solves the problem at least with custom elements.
