Amazon Fire Stick fix

The problem persists. Out of the blue, over 2 months ago now, my media (stored on a WD MyCloud NAS) stopped playing through the Plex app on my Amazon Fire Stick.

This forum is literally LITTERED with similar threads, with little or no tech support or official resolution from Plex tech staff - other than repeated requests to send the error log.

I am a Plex Pass paying CUSTOMER, who for over 2 months now, has NOT had service. I have not been helped or supported by Plex, despite repeated requests.

I want an official fix from Plex for this issue (long overdue) in the responses below, or cancellation of my Plex Pass and a REFUND for the last 2 months of non-existent service and support.

Yours sincerely,
An angry customer

Same issue for me, all videos return an error on my Fire TV stick. Happened (I think) on a recent server update. I’ll try to find and install an older version and see if it restores functionality.

Update! I uninstalled Plex (1.23.4.4805) and installed the previous server version (1.23.4.4707). I was immediately able to play videos on my Fire stick again. It sounds like you might have a different issue if it hasn’t been working for that long. Just wanted to post what worked for me. I won’t be updating again until it is fixed.

Having the same issue. Bought a Fire tv. Downloaded Plex. Signed in. Could not play the media I have stored on My Cloud Home. Plex plays fine on Roku devices, but not Fire Tv. Tried multiple setting changes to network and app with no success. On Wednesday, Aug 18th at approximately 10 pm eastern time, the app miraculously started working. Played videos and music. Thinking the problem had been resolved, I tried again the next day only to get the same error message as before. Can someone from Plex look into that and report back to us? Because I did nothing different for it to all of a sudden play one day then go back to error message the next.
