Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and I would like to thank all of you for your interesting posts and putting in much effort to get plex atv3 working for lots of people.
I've got an issue, hope you guys can tell me if I'm doing something wrong.
Info:
ATV3 - FW: 5.2.1. - DNS:192.168.2.254 - Win7 64 Bit ultimate - PMS 0.9.7.22 - PMS IP 192.168.2.6 (my laptop) - Media stored on internal drive
Looks like only the metadata is going to my atv3. I tried playing music (mp3) and movies (different files) and I'm only getting the files names and additional metadata. Trying to play the files generates the error:
"An Error occurred loading this content"
You guys can check what I'm doing wrong ? Much appreciated :-)

Detail on the media file if it is an issue related to playing a media file:http://goo.gl/PrwDOa
A detailed description of the issue: A movie file weirdly won't play. The source of the file is from a location I have downloaded before, and I am unable to determine why this among others cannot play.
Thank you for looking at it so quickly. I am hopeful that this is easily fixable as VLC does play the movie and it's not just audio. Is there anything that I can do to the XML to fix this?
**UPDATE** I hit the Analyze button and it found the video content... pressed play and voila. Here is the new XML info http://goo.gl/UjCcvV. Do you mind showing me the difference? I know you are here to offer fixes to problems and not teach people, I just can't resist asking.

A detailed description of the issue: No audio in this movie, and PMS identifies it is AAC 2.0. I looked at alternative audio track options but found none solve it, the movie's silent. Bad download?
unfortunately i have same problem is in my system.
My system are: Synology 112 (plex server 0.9.8.4.125) + Apple TV 2 JB + Plex (0.11.0b2)
the movies and the tv show library are ok, but i can not play any content.
the answer is always: "an error occurred loading this content"
i restarted many time the ATV, no change.
what can i do??
thank you
sometimes it helps to go to your PMS and find the content you are trying to play and hit the Analyze button on the left hand side. Sometimes the initial scan doesn't get it all quite right and it misses the audio track, for example.
the apple tv does not support the mkv and etc, only mp4
i found some mp4 movies and these are working,
i am nearly sure the plex is not my solution :S
No way, Plex Connect is DEFINITELY your answer. Plex Media Centre can plan damn near anything you throw at it thanks in part to transcoding. What you may find is that the processing power to convert on the fly from the format it is in to the format that is playing may be more resources than your server can keep up with (think YouTube buffering). I assure you though that mkv, avi, m4v, etc all play within the Plex ecosystem
Is your problem solved? I met the same problem yersterday, and I think your log is the same as mine. Your IP_self is 192.168.2.6, however GDM auto discovery is 192.168.56.1, which is not correct -- you will get the page, but cannot play video. Manually set IP_PMS to your real PMS IP should work.
