There is an issue with the latest Android versions of the Plex App.

Many of my larger 4K videos are no longer playing with above error message shown. Play back of movies I’ve watched before are not working. Others however that are just as large from a file size and MB/s requirement, and have matching codec/media info play fine.

All videos play fine via Plex.tv on the iMac, using the iMac app, and on the Apple TV app. Ruling out it being anything to do with the media itself, the storage, network bandwith etc (Apple TV is wireless whereas Shield and iMac are both connected via ethernet cables).

Apple TV doesn’t pass through the TrueHD audio - hoping a resolution to whatever has been broken in recent Shield/Fire Cube Plex players can be resolved soon.

I’ve been experiencing problems streaming some series from my NAS plex server. I have three fire tv sticks; one doesn’t allow me to stream some series, and the other does allow me to stream those series but not others. It doesn’t update the episodes that I just watch and when I try to update them manually to already watched, the app crashes.

There is a problem on android TV with episodes not being marked as played

Mine get stuck in the continue watching and I have to manually marked them as played.

That is a known bug that was reported several weeks ago

So I take it there is just no support for Plex anymore. These so called support forums are the only avenue and after 25 days the only response is two more people adding their experience of the issues as well.

It is so frustrating to have the Nvidia Shield, which hosts the Plex Server, say the network is too slow, when it’s all hardwired on the same network and the same videos play immediately and smoothly on the Apple TV which is one step removed from the host server.

It’s not a settings issue. Does anyone know how to get anyone who works at Plex attention or has this thing become too big for its own good now. I’m not sure why I pay a premium subscription when I can’t get support the one time in years I need it.
