Analyze appears to be broken with plex server 1.20.4.3508

OS: Fedora 32 64bit
Server Version#: Version 1.20.4.3508
Player Version#: Version 4.45.0

Since I upgraded to plexmediaserver-1.20.4.3508-6abbd541f.x86_64.rpm doing an analyze on either a movie or tv show seems to have hung.

Normally when this works you can review the alerts page and it will report the on the status of the analyze work. I’m not seeing any errors in the logs but have attached for review if needed

Plex Media Server Logs_2020-10-28_14-41-40.zip (4.2 MB)

Thanks for the logs - I can see a potential issue and we’re investigating.

We have another beta scheduled for either later today or tomorrow, I’ve pushed a fix for this in there (thankfully was a simple one).

@drzoidberg33 thanks

@drzoidberg33 btw… not sure if its related or not but the library scan is significantly slower now since the upgrade to this 1.20.4.3508 build. Probably 2x slower to scan the movie libraries.

Can anyone tell me how to create a topic on here? I can’t find any options

@drzoidberg33 fyi… with plexmediaserver-1.20.4.3517-ab5e1197c.x86_64.rpm analyze is back working again, thanks.

Also, scanning of libraries is back to normal.

The latest beta build has the fix for the analysis issue I was seeing in your log.

Regarding the speed of the scans I don’t see any recent changes that would have affected that. When you say scan speed, are you referring to the time it takes from selecting “Scan Library Files” to the time the notification for this disappears? Is it only slower when new files are added or even when nothing changes?

Ha! Glad to hear, ignore my previous post then :smile:

@drzoidberg33 thanks – guessing the memory leak which was fixed was having an effect. Anyhow, back to BAU now which is great.

That memory leak has been around since 1.15.x I think, so I doubt it was the problem. Could have maybe just been some fluke.
