Back in August Matt Seeley answered a question of mine and explained Sony were assisting with a fix for anamorphic playback. He mentioned he’d seen a beta or some such of this and it was looking promising.
Just wondering if Matt, or someone else can give us an update in terms of when that’s likely to be integrated into plex and we’ll be able to watch Anamorphic DVD rip’s using the PS3 app. I’ve discovered something like 50% of my DVD rips are anamorphic!!!

There have been some comments in a few threads about sony releasing a platform update to app developers which fixed an outstading bug for the team, but introduced several otehrs which means they have not yet been able to adopt it. That was some time ago so maybe @mattseeley may be able to provide a more recent update.

Driving me nuts that over 50% of my movies I’ve ripped off my DVD’s are anamorphic editions and basically unwatchable on the plex PS3 app.
Even more frustrating is that they play perfectly using DLNA, but you can’t fast-forward or rewind and they don’t remember where you’re up to, so as long as you’re going to sit and watch it, it’s ok, other than that no good for watching a movie in 2 sittings… 
Just read the other post about this where Plex have advised server and app update is imminent!!! Awesome…
