Android 10.30.5.4094

Server Version#: n/a
Player Version#: 10.30.5.4094

I noticed today that my Fire Stick 4K Max is now running Plex app version 10.30.5.4094 (1b82b1be). Considering this is loaded from the Amazon App Store I assume this version has been out for awhile (Amazon is pretty slow to approve app updates in my experience). Can we get some release notes for this version?

Having some odd hanging issues here, and not sure if the new app is to blame or the current auth system load from all the people resetting their passwords and reconnecting devices.

My Fire Tablet is on that version too. What issues are you having?

My tablet won’t play certain files but does other newer or harder stuff just fine. I keep getting an “error has occurred. Please check your connection.”
Even when I’m playing from Downloads. Doing the launch from external player option doesn’t work.

Other OS’s like iPad, Android phone plays everything just fine though. I’m not seeing any errors on my server.log so it must be a Amazon Plex issue.

They’re gone now. The app was taking forever to launch and hanging. It was sitting on the “Plex” splash screen for over a minute, or opening to a black screen with no media or menus, or a screen with a black/gray blur effect and just not continuing unless I backed out of the app with some difficulty and tried again.

I tried clearing the cache and data (login) on it, even though I had just reauthed it two days prior from the customer data breach, but it didn’t really help. But when I launched Kodi and the PM4K add-on it was able to log in and connect to my server quickly, so I ended up using it for awhile.

I don’t think it was the Plex app because I saw the same issue later on with my Shield, which is on an earlier app version, and the problem seems to be gone now. It was just the Plex auth servers overloaded I guess from the wave of people resetting their logins. I reset mine very early in things and beat the rush perhaps.
