As of January, i can no longer get my plex content from my synology nas server to play on android unless I am on my home wifi. I have a plex lifetime pass for myself/on my server but the app only displays content at home.
Playing remote, I log in and it just spins the app endlessly. Other server users are able to access remotely, but me as the server owner cannot, suddenly.
Is the server claimed with a different Plex account? Asking because you do not have “Plex Pass” beside your username.
In Settings → Remote Access, does Plex show “Fully accessible outside your network”?
Also, please try this:
- Place phone on mobile network only.
- Using the phone, point a browser at the public IP address and port of the Plex server. For example, if the IP address and port are 1.2.3.4 & 31415, use http://1.2.3.4:31415/web (use https if secure connections = required).
- Do you receive a Plex login page?
I do get a login page, but it is an endless spin after I put my information in.
I have paid for the lifetime plex pass so I’m not sure why it isn’t showing, or how to get any help from support to investigate why it isn’t
Thanks for the info.
Receiving the login page means the network connection is working.
Look at your account settings: https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/account
Below your e-mail address and above the security section, it displays your subscriptions.
If you have a Plex Pass, then it should be displayed there.
If it is not, then contact Plex Billing: https://www.plex.tv/contact/?option=billing-issues#p-contact. They can verify the status of your Plex Pass.
Also, forgot to ask earlier:
PMS version? 1.42.2.10156 (current public release), etc.
Android app version? 2026.0.1, etc.
