Android app update broke the ability to control Chromecast Plex

After the 7.31.0.16802 plex app update on Android I can’t control Plex while streaming to a Chromecast as I did anymore. The volume buttons will change my media volume instead of the Plex one as it usually did and the widget of what is playing is not showing on the locked phone screen. The only way to control the volume is to unlock the phone, open the plex app (or google home) and then use the volume buttons. It’s a pain.

I used Aptoide to downgrade to the 7.30.2.16712 version so I could still use it ‘normally’, but I hope they fix it. The even newer version 8.0.0.17168 is still broken too.

I found another fellow (Inability to change volume while casting on Android?) with a similar problem while searching the forum, but apparently his problem is server related instead of app related, so that’s why I’m creating a new thread.
