Short question in the round. Do you have any problems with the latest beta and DTS-HD? He plays it, but it has dropouts in between. DTS HD Master and High Res in MKV … look at
Does the subtitles issue mentioned by a few of us in this thread need to be broken out into another discussion or has it been acknowledged elsewhere?
I am happy to provide any logs or info that might be relevant to help resolve it but if it is not on the agenda to be looked at relatively soon, I might need to drop out of the beta to get the subtitles back and working on my Sony Bravia Android TV.
apologies if stating the obvious, but have you tried turning off the New player in the app settings and using the old player.
That seemed to work for me.
I’m not sure that I can recall seeing a setting relating to the selection of the player but I will certainly have another look later when I get home. Thanks for the suggestion.
It should be in the Advanced row of settings (at least it is on mine), I think it defaulted to on when I installed the beta.
Bug report:
In short: Video playback issues when using DD+/EAC3 (sound is smooth video is stuttering.
I must have looked at that settings screen hundreds of times over recent months and to this point I never knew that the ‘Advanded’ row extended off to the right of the screen! Facepalm for me but also maybe a UI consideration for Plex. An arrow indicating that there are further settings obscured from view perhaps?
Anyway, turning off the new player did allow me to see the subtitles again but more interestingly, when I then turned the new player back on again immediately after, the ability to see subtitles remained. Very strange but working for me now…aside from still not being able to offset externally sourced subtitles with the video in this version of the app anyway!
One more post on this, when i switch to the old player, chapters load fine again. Just this new player has trouble loading chapters consistently.
Could I get a comment from plex on the chapter issue i am seeing in my mkv’s using the new video player? Do my logs help, is this a known issue, do you need more info?
new videoplayer has mayor issues, i am using plex on phillips andoid tv. no playback with subs. i reverted to old player and activated optical audio passthroug, seems working now.
Nvidia shield, lyrics don’t load. On the lyrics screen the clock icon shows but no lyrics. If you click on the clock Plex crashes.

I’m still seeing strange display issues in the first 10 seconds of media playback on two bravia TVs: the screen will remain blank with audio playing back fine, or the screen will display a freeze frame of the content from about 10 seconds into the video until it ‘catches up’. Doesn’t happen all the time, doesn’t seem to impact specific formats or resolutions. I can provide logs later if that would help. Was not present with the old player.
I have an issue with the new player UI on Android TV.
At night I like to shuffle a TV show to fall asleep, pre-New Player UI I was able to do this and then my Nvidia Shield would go to sleep after an episode played. Now with the new Player UI after the first episode plays, the next episode is queued up and left in a paused state and now my Nvidia Shield does not go to sleep.
Was this feature removed on purpose or just a bug and will be fixed?

I have the exact same problem with 7.26.0.14578 on a Nvidia Shield , For now I have reverted to the old player but I prefer the new one.
This happens with almost every videos i play. I have to hit skip back immediately after it starts playing to get the video to play.
Selected UNO Menu item on Nvidia Shield TV doesn’t display content until clicked.
For instance, when I’m on the home screen and go down to Live TV, I expect the sub menu for Live TV to display to the right. However, it still stays on the home sub menu until I click on the menu for Live TV
