Android clients cannot change DVR recording location

Just discovered if I try to set up a recording from any of my Android Plex Media Clients, I cannot change the destination location of the recording.

When I select the “Add to library” option, all my current libraries are listed.
However, when I choose my desired library the change is not reflected nor is it accepted.
In fact the only folder which is ‘accepted’ is the initial folder which is displayed when the process to setup the recording begun.

With no choice but to accept it, the recording will proceed and complete.
However, it is now in a location where I do not want it and have to move it manually and then resync the library to reflect the change.

**This ONLY happens when using the Android client. **
It works if the recording is set up using a PC web browser.

Anyone else having the same problem?

You can change the location when you set up a recording. If you have an existing schedule, open it up and you can change the location there.

I tested and can verify trying to change the record location from the Android mobile client doesn’t work. Not sure if this is something anyone at Plex is aware of, but they have mentioned some overall live TV and DVR changes coming to the Android clients soon.

You might want to edit your tags on this thread to remove plex-media-player and add android-mobile and android-tv.

  • DVR: selecting a different library to record to didn’t work.

ok.
Have downloaded the newly released clients.

I am now able to select the library location of my choice. However, I get an error immediately after selecting ‘record’ to finalise the recording. In fact the only folder it allows me to save a recording is the ‘default’ folder which always appears when I was not able to change the location.

So for all sakes and purposes Im back to square one.
