This is a new bug introduced in latest player as this has always worked before. Even after upgrading server it persists.
I have my photos in a number of subdirectories depending on the events depicted and how they are arranged - and I view this in Library mode on the app. This means that sometimes I have 4 or 5 levels of subdirectories that I want to navigate. The latest player only works up to the third subfloder and then will not open that directory. A long press allows one to play the contents, but this is not useful if all I want to do is browse. Please bring back old behaviour. This does work on the web app and also seems to be working fine on IOS devices.

Agreed this has been an issue (highly annoying one) for a few weeks on Android only, iOS or Xbox is fine.
There is a solution, and that’s to install an older build before it was broken. Do the devs even read these forum posts btw? This is one of several threads on the issue and it seems like it’s been radio silent on all of them. Some reassurance that they’re investigating would be nice considering it’s a pretty significant issue.

I have also been affected by this on my Motorola One 5G ace and Motorola Moto G Power but not windows players or browsers
This is fixed in build 9.25.0.2228 (currently in Beta).
