Android Playback (Download works, playback does not)

Player Version#: Android 9.21.1.1169 (Play Store)
Device: Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet
Android Version: 10

Android Device will download content and sync correctly with no errors, whether in Original or Transcode 1080p format, but none of the downloads will play back. The error is very standard with no detail: “An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please check your connection and try again” or “Failed to play downloaded file, external storage not found”. All files are successfully downloaded and stored locally to the device, so can’t figure out the error message. On some media, if Use External Player is selected, it might play back, but within Plex, there is always an error.

Does anyone have any ideas on what might be happening? Also not sure how to collect logs from mobile device.

Same issue with a Samsung S5e. “external storage not found”…yet it finds it just fine to download. There is another thread here from a while back for the same issue. Unfortunately, no replies. Seems we either don’t know root cause, or nobody wants to talk about it.
