External storage not found error for downloaded videos. Changing to use external player will work

I am using the latest plex server on qnap and latest plex on my android phone. This is the Samsung S23 Ultra phone. When playing some downloaded videos you will get the external storage not found error. Whats interesting is its only some videos not all of them. I have cleared my cache on the plex app for android and also uninstalled it completely and reinstalled it and the same videos have the same error and will only work on external player like VLC

I’m not clear what you are trying to do. Download to external storage?

My s23 ultra only has internal storage. I am downloading these videos to my device as downloaded content in plex. On some downloaded videos I get that error message and only playing with external player works. If I delete the offline video and play it with streaming normally there is no issue playing it normally through the plex player.

I have found some other people with the same issues but no solution. Android Playback (Download works, playback does not)

I am a lifetime plex subscriber and have been with plex since the beginning. This is the first time I’m having an issue

I was but I have not figured out issue yet.

I was going to ask if you have your local or remote quality set to a low number in the apps quality settings.

Everything is set to the highest quality

Having similar issues but only on downloads larger than 2gb.
