Android Plex client to Plex server on WD MyCloud NAS can't cast to Denon amp

I am very successfully playing everything on my Android phone (Samsung S10e) from my Plex server. However I would like to cast to my Denon amp, but the amp is not shown as a device I can cast to. The Denon amp can see the Plex server and play from it, but the Denon app is very clunky and slow.
(I have also used a Jellyfin server on my desktop PC, and the Jellyfin client can cast perfectly - it can also turn the amp on if necessary).
Any ideas? I’ve not managed to find a matching solution on this site.

Plex’s cast feature only works with Google Chromecast, Apple AirPlay, Sonos, and Plex’s own Companion protocols. Unless your Denon supports one of these, it’s not possible. The feature you are describing with the Denon app and Jellyfin is DLNA. Plex clients do not support DLNA.
