Android Plex Doesn't Load Movies if in a Collection

No I do not have that.

I do.

@ItsThatJA I’m sorry i don’t have any ETA on that. From what i see in bug report that @Atomatth made we have folks logs but nothing provided clues so far and devs have not been able to reproduce using the steps mentioned in this forum topic

Would more than one or two people’s logs help? Maybe something will show up if more logs are provided.

Its very worrying that nothing has been found after 6 months. It only seems to be Android Devices that are affected.

It honestly makes the app unusable for us folks that are having this issue..

Some times it does. I can’t say if it will in this case or note but we are happy to investigate any logs given to compare for possible connections we are missing.

@BigWheel @Atomatth Here are my logs. I really hope they help fix this issue..

Plex Media Server Logs_2025-12-19_16-23-00.zip (1.0 MB)

Here are the debugging enabled logs.

I have multiple locations also. I did create a collection in a library with only one location and the error still remains.

I have multiple parentheses “()” in my folder names does anyone else have the parentheses?

Example folder named (((Superhero)))

Error happened at 0512 on 12/23. On two android devices, attached is the server log from plexdash.

It does not have anything to do with the audnexus Metadata error as this issue predates me installing that addon.

@BigWheel Can we get confirmation that these logs have/are being looked at?

They were

Any updates at all? Still unusable as I can’t open any shows or films in a collection

Confirmed: still broken in version 2026.0.0

Is there perhaps some kind of security software involved?

Collections Load on, Android TV, Fire TV, Roku, iPhone. They do not load on android phones. It is wierd and only affects a small amount of users.

It works perfectly on an android phone using the web app on a browser, and it used to work fine on the old app design. But ever since the new version, it’s not allowed me to load movies or shows in a collection. Even when I deleted all but a few collections, it still wouldn’t load those specific movies.

Yes this really should be a top priority fix.

I posted about it a while back.

Frustrating experience on the Mobile App - Plex Players / Mobile Devices - Plex Forum

Put simply, nobody gives a damn. Seriously, nobody cares because we’ve given them money already, just look at all the ‘Plex Pass’ tags in this thread. Solving this doesn’t profit them a single additional penny, which is clearly the focus of Plex Inc. now.

It sucks for us because obviously not being able to load movies on my Android phone is an extremely large problem. But the message I got is: can’t reproduce it, tough luck, see ya later.

And this still works on the last android app, pre-’new experience’. All I need to do is install an older app to fix this issue. Logically, the issue is in the new Plex Android app itself, but here we are.

ChuckPA’s ‘Plex DBRepair’ was updated 4 days ago with new functionality to rebuild FTS data, which may impact collections:

The error originally manifested as a “500 - internal server error” when dealing with collections.
Given what has been learned, would not be surprised if this feature also corrects other mysterious problems which previously would require a full server rebuild.

Unfortunately this did NOT fix the issue for me. Films in collections still do not load, even after all DBs/indexes are reported as clean.

Everything continues to work in the old, pre-’new experience’ app.

Just wanted to put this data point out there.

Don’t think I can test this at the minute as my server is on windows. It still seems to be an Android app issue - they seem to load fine on Android TV, web app. I think it’s due to the loading time of collections? It seems to load the movie page on Android TV but not fully load the collections at the bottom, whereas the Android app loads neither?

Read the first post… it’s Android on phone.

Glad it works for you, it doesn’t for others here.
