Same problem on my Bravia, loading the next episode show an error for weeks now. (Windows 10 - PMS 1.23.4.4805)

Another issue, after every power shutdown in my house due to construction in the neighborhood, the entire Plex app show yellow triangle and the tv need a restart to make Plex work again, you’d think a big company like Plex would handle those kind of problem, I’ve never seen any apps act like that, why Plex can’t resume normally instead of staying stuck like this, I guess I’ll never know…

Another Sony Bravia Android TV User with the same issue.

Admittedly my Bravia KD-55XD8599, is pathetic on general performance and I Vow never to buy another Sony TV ever again because they don’t provide OS updates after couple years max.

I tested the Plex app on a new Firestick 4k, which is practically the same as the same as the Android TV/Mobile version but that version seems to have its own set of problems. While the Firestick doesn’t have the Blackscreen (audio only) problem, it does have the same buffering on start vid issue which can cause the app to crash and auto reboot.

Funny thing is the same app works flawlessly on my Samsung Note 20 Ultra phone, so I put it down to low quality testing on older/less common OS’s

I’ve ended up rolling back both PMS and Android app on my Bravia:

Now everything work properly, tested with 1080p/DTS 5.1 no transcoding, and no error on next episode.

Let’s call it a day for now, Plex is really a nightmare on Android devices, I don’t understand why they don’t make sure the “basics” work everywhere either new or old devices…
