Android TV client slow scroll on home submenus such as "Recently Added"

I’ve noticed that within the past few months the scroll speed to scroll through “Recently Added in Movies, Recently Added in TV show” etc. on the home screen is much slower than it used to be. It used to wiz through all my library items and felt much nicer to use!

Related to this, scrolling through items in the Movies and TV Shows libraries is quite fast but the posters don’t load particularly fast to ‘keep up’ with the UI movement.

yes, this change to a “slow” mode occurred quite a few releases ago, and not sure why anyone thought that was a good idea.

the scroll speed is still set “correctly” IMO when using the A-Z list on the right side, but everywhere has been put into snail mode.

Hey all! thanks for the feedback, we are making tweaks to our scrolling to better manage performance capabilities on the devices so you will see some improvements and changes over the coming releases.

the changes made in 9.0.x are a huge regression, and in general over the past months you have been slowing down the scrolling. there is zero requirement to slow anything down on a shield device.

rather than forcing “slow” mode on to everyone give the user the choice.
