I’ve been having this problem on and off for a few months now. With the current 7.31 android version, when I finish watching an old comedy show, the episode only gets marked as watched about half the time. Previous incarnations of this bug would instead mark the next episode as watched instead and still leave 5 or 10 minutes remaining on the episode that I actually finished watching.
The reason that I mentioned old comedies is that the those files are always SD quality with lower bit rate and small file sizes – and they direct play. The Android app pre-caches as much of the stream in advance as possible. Often the the rest of the rest of the episode will be cached by the time I’m about halfway through a 22 minute episode.
So what I think is happening is that the android player doesn’t actually need to stream anything from the server for the last 10 minutes of the program. I suspect that the server is getting confused or abandoning the stream due to inactivity and everything is getting confused. The time left as still left to play might correspond to the point at with the app completed caching 100% of the rest of the program.
My 2 cents worth anyway. This bug happens to me 2 or 3 times every day and it always with old SD comedies with low bit rate.
