The marked as played or marked as unplayed feature is not working I got a new update today on the Nvidia shield hoping it would fix it still not fixed I’d have to select individual episodes marked played or unplayed I can’t select the whole series or season anymore.I used to get an error when this first happened with the update that showed people’s faces underneath the series or movie that they’re in.I let it go hoping that the new update would fix it or people complain I’ve been the post though no answer. Then I just got another update in the Nvidia shield and still it marked played and marked unplate for whole season isn’t working.Even though I’m able to do it from the web interface I can do it fine everything works great only on the video shield is not letting me do it since the update before this one and the update that happened now no change.

Ran a quick test on my system.
The “Mark as Played” button does not work for a TV series.
“Press and hold” works for both series and seasons. There is a display bug when marking an entire series as played.
From the TV library screen, move to the desired series, press and hold the center button on the remote. Choose Mark as Played from the pop-up menu. This works. However, you have to leave and re-enter the library to see the change on-screen.
For individual seasons, move to the desired season. Press and hold the center button on the remote. Choose “Mark as Played” from the pop up menu. The change is reflected immediately onscreen.
new update just came out today and it still doesn’t work this is really annoying I don’t want to have to select every single episode by episode for it to work cuz that works on the shield just not the whole series selection doesn’t work it’s marked but it doesn’t show unplayed or played once I do it.
but if I do it on the web interface so my computer or on my phone it works fine That’s a really annoying please fix
Yeah it’s hecka annoying huh I can do it on everything else except Nvidia shield what the heck cuz after that update that had the people’s faces underneath it for me cuz I do updates every time a new update comes out
I’ve had this problem for a while now, so it’s definitely a PLEX issue. Highlighting the whole series, holding down the center button and selecting “mark as played/unplayed” seems to be working at least, thanks for that suggestion FordGuy61.
yeah individual episodes who wants to do that I want to do a whole season like I was able to before and a whole series at once that I was able to do before
I have the older she will I don’t know if that makes a difference not I have the 2017 model not the oldest one but the one prior to the newest 2019 one
Any ideas same with my uncles too he has the new pro 2019 when his does doesn’t do it either still and same with my mother-in-law she has 2017 one and then my brother-in-law has a 2019 one his doesn’t do it either and then my other brother-in-law he has 2017 one it doesn’t do it and then my mom and dad theirs doesn’t either theirs is a 2017 and then my mother and father-in-law’s doesn’t do it either and then my actual brother doesn’t do it either on his 2017 one
all this took place as soon as that one update came out for Android TV that added the people’s faces underneath the movie of you know the cast that’s in it once that was added to the actual Android Nvidia shield TV interface that’s when it stopped working as soon as I installed that update
do you know when this updates going to happen cuz it’s just it’s so long I want to be able to mark unplayed and played and for people too that use my Plex I feel like they might think oh Plex isn’t good there’s all these problems with it because of this fix I mean there’s a lot of people and I just I want to have a good look at you guys
I’m sorry I misunderstood you but yeah I mean I just don’t understand while it’s not working like this is ridiculous ever since that update as soon as that happened and for everyone else too I even deleted one of my libraries added it back on just to see if there was a problem with that still the same thing

When on the TV show pre-play screen, the “Mark as Played” button now works, and the results are reflected immediately on-screen for all seasons (or episodes if only one season).
Results are not immediately reflected on the TV Show Library main page (which displays all shows). If, from a TV show pre-play screen, I mark a show as played, then back up one screen, the show cover art still displays the number of previously unplayed episodes (as if I had not marked anything as played). If I change to another library then return to the TV show library, the show cover correctly displays played/unplayed status.
