Android TV with Plex

Something strange has happened since yesterday. Today Plex on my Philips android TV wont play. If I start a movie or a tv show it just goes black, and then after around 10 sec i get thrown “out” no audio, no video.
I would also like to add that it works fine on my android phone, a mac, a windows pc and an ipad.

Is it just a bad Plex player update? or is there something i can do? I really dont want to go back to the kodi plex addon version again.

Which exact version of Plex for Android is this?
With those staged rollouts via Google Play some users are not necessarily up-to-date – also there’s the public vs. beta releases

1st troubleshooting steps could be to force-quit the app and start it again. If that doesn’t produce any change you could try rebooting your TV

Tried that a couple of times earlier today with no luck. Tried it again now and the force quit of the app didn’t help. But the total shut down of the TV did. Everything seems to be back to normal now.

Cant remember if i updated the Plex app before or after i tried the shut downs earlier today.

Having the same problem Plex live Tv, movies and news on FireTV, for me I have to force stop and clear Data, just clearing the cache won’t do it. It’s a pain because I have to log back into my server each time.

PLEASE update android/firetv apps to latest exoplayer! Many issues including subtitles would be resolved and comes with many core improvements. Last core update was a long time ago. Same complaints keep coming up which are all resolved by latest exoplayer versions or switching to something much better eg MXPlayer, MPV, BSPlayer, VLC.

Plex Live TV, Movies, and News is still not functiong on FireTV. Forced stop, cleared cache, cleared Data, and still the infinite spinning whirl.

The above settings are needed for HDHR to function remotely at all on FireTV. (without these settings Plex ignores remote bandwith restrictions)

Try these setting and see what happens to the:
