Hi All,
Sorry to make another post like this but of the other ones I found, none of their solutions seemed to fixed the issue.
So as the subject says, I have set my dad up with an Xbox one and a Plex server, and for the longest while, everything was working fine. As near as we can tell (because he didnt use it much in the summer), it stopped working around early August. The xbox can’t seem to find the server. It keeps saying its offline or unavailable.
The first thing I did was uninstall the apps on both the server and the Xbox One, restarted both. I reinstalled the server first, it found all the videos, grabbed the metadata etc and that was fine. I installed Plex on the Xbox One again, and signed in, still no plex server. BUT I shared MY plex library with him and he can see my server no problem (in a different house) but can’t seem to access his own.
The next troubleshooting step I did was simply log out of the server and log out of the Xbox, and re-sign in with the credentials.
They are both on the same network, both getting a 192.168.0.xxx IP number.
I checked on the Xbox and it reports the NAT type as being open.
I’m not sure if its relevant to anyone but its a Rogers Cable white Hitron modem.
I checked on his server under devices, and I can see that his xbox listed, and it even shows “last connected x minutes ago” so the server can see the Xbox, BUT the Xbox can’t seem to find the server.
Any help would be appreciated.
