Anyone having issues with trailers playing irrespective of setting?

So for basically about EVER ive had trailers set to play 3 prior to each movie, and only on unwatched films.

Out of nowhere (and my plex time has been infrequent lately) I now am seeing trailers pre movie on every movie, watched or otherwise.

I assumed it was perhaps native to the shield client, but happens on roku, and also happens on the web player.

I obviously checked to ensure the settings didnt change themselves, and they did not. Gonna assume this is a bug on the PMS side of the fence (i am beta/pass channel) and we just have to wait it out?

The preference is about what kind of trailers are being played.
Whether the movie you are about to watch is already “watched” or not doesn’t play a role.
However, the selection of trailers will be restricted to
trailers for movies which are not ‘played’.

really? I “was” close to positive they never played on movies i had already watched, only unplayed movies.

apparently not. Actually blows my mind, but i am getting old, and it has been awhile So
 lol.

That all being said, does a setting exist to have trailers play only for unwatched?

No. You can only choose whether you want trailers before your movies or not.

my poor kids watch frozen or dora 10x a week and end up with trailers over n over lol.

Thanks for the info, saved me from fretting about it and humbled me that much more. I was literally SURE. go figure.

I think it is better to disable trailers on this device then.
(Personally, I find 3 trailers are way too many.)

Dora is a tv show. There are no trailers played on these. (If we are talking about “Dora the Explorer”)

yea, i like my trailers. including my pre-roll i try to make it similar to a cinema experience. Again, its been some years - but i think cinema’s usually play about 3 :stuck_out_tongue:

I trump my kids, so looks like they get trailers lol. Though you do have a point, on at least the little bedroom tv i can probably nix them.

Inspite of being a plex pass member trailors are not being played and even the advance audio experience is not being felt for the money being spent. Appreciate a quick and root cause solution to this problem.Error

it played last night but again after the new server update back to square one , no trailers not the enhanced audio experience is felt , what is the use of purchasing a plex pass , when you say something do that but simply do not charge for what your are unable to provide, why do you make me keep coming the same problem every now and then why not a permanent fix given for the above said issues. Appreciate a quick and permanent fix to this issue on priority .

Trailers are not being played when i cast a movie via chromecast , but when i see in web browser this played sometimes, why this lag need a fix for this asap
