Really hoping for a resolution for this as I’ve been dealing with it for 6+ months now. I’m dealing with an issue with the Plex app for ios where it freezes while resuming media from playback.
When I “minimize” the app, just put it in the background while a video is playing, on relaunch it does one of two things.
- Lets me interact with the app once. This could be pressing play(resuming playback), auto-rotating, skipping forward etc. The app then proceeds to freeze and i have to force close it and then relaunch. Sometimes the relaunch works, but most of the time it gets stuck on the first frame of the launch animation and then crashes.
- On relaunch, it completely freezes the entire phone up for approx 30 seconds. Once i can use my phone again, i have to force close the app and then I relaunch it.
I would say 95% of the time that i exit the app while media is playing, it breaks something. I’ve also noticed that in the small % of the time where it doesn’t break, video playback goes all gray and pixelated for a few seconds before returning to normal.
I’ve been a plex user for quite a few years now. With my issues on plex for ios, and Live TV just not working anymore, If i cant get this fixed soon I’ll be looking for alternatives. To be honest, the product was more reliable back in 2015/2016 when I started using it.
