App won't play on Amazon Fire TV

In addition to all of the other issues I have had with this app, I just recently hit an issue where the app won’t even start up on my Fire Player. It just tells me that there is an error and directs me to the forum. Look guys…when. I heard about this application I was very, VERY excited about it. I am a movie buff and have been looking for a way to store and play my movies for years. I want you to succeed as much as, or more than anyone else…but you have to crawl before you can run. This application is so inconsistent and buggy that it even makes me want to give up and just go back to sticking dvds in the player. Because at least that way I am 100% sure that I won’t have to deal with errors and buffering every one in five times I use the app.

I would be happy to discuss this with any of your developers or participate in user forums to help. I’m your bingest fan…but I’m going to go Kathy Bates on your app if you guys don’t get this platform to run more consistentLynn ASAP. Someone else is going to jump into this market and offer a basic version of what you do that does nothing but play movies, and they are going to win if they can accomplish that one simple objective.

Hello and welcome to the forums. Sorry to hear you are having issues. Can you provide some details?

  • Did you install from the Amazon app store?
  • Which version is it (please don’t say latest)?
  • Which device do you have?
  • Can you provide the exact wording of the error?

I have had this problem many times, it doesn’t allow you to click on the restart button as it behaves like a touch app on a non touch device. The answer is to press the home button then restart the FireTV. It’s a pain to be honest, it would be nice to have a working “reset plex button” but hey. This happens frequently, probably multiple times a week, occasionally multiple times in a day.
