Seems it’s now happening with my movies as well?
Anyone got a solution / hack / workaround to fix this? It is so infuriating especially when you are browsing the lower half of a library to go back to the top (the A section).
I don’t have a date for pubic release but should be soon, and there should be a fix in it current beta if any of you are running it.
I just updated to 7.11 (22422) on my Apple TV and this is almost fixed. It no longer scrolls to the top when going back from a library item. However, if you use the letter index on the right side to jump to a specific section and then select a movie, once you go back to the library it defaults the active selection to the right side (selected letter) rather than to the movie you just left so if you start scrolling up or down without first moving the selection back to the movies themselves it causes it to jump sections. This is not nearly as annoying as it was but should still be fixed to return the selection to the item you just left rather than the index.

Same issue here V 7.10 (22174). Most annoying thing ever.
Yes same thing for me, just updated the app and it no longer scrolls to the top once i have exited the movie but now it defaults to the alphabet scrolling on the right hand side and not back to the movie i was on. So annoying to the point i have been using my Amazon 4K Firestick over my Apple TV just because of this problem. It’s now better but not fixed.
And iam unimpressed how long its taken to get an update and when it does arrive its still not right

I can confirm that I’m still having the exact same issue described here.
I can scroll through my movies just fine but once I enter the movie info page and jump back to my grid view, it will shoot me all the way back to the top 100% of the time. Using Apple TV 4K 4th Gen.
After briefly fixing itself, I can confirm that I’m having the issue again. When I exit a movie info screen, the selection shoots back up the top every time.

Issue seems to have been fixed (at least for me).
I’ve been having this issue for months and could easily reproduce it just by scrolling in my movies. Today I just updated the Plex App and Plex Server per the versions above and tried it out and now with the updates it has seemed to fix the issue. I’ve only played with it a bit so far so will report back if I see it happen again on my end.
The problem is unfortunately not yet fixed in 7.11
I just tried it with this constellation and the problem still appears on my setup:
Plex Server: 1.25.0.1511
Plex App: 7.11
Apple tvOS: 14.3
After I rolled back in TestFlight to a prior version, there the problem does not appear.
Plex Server: 1.25.0.1511
Plex App: 7.7 (21764)
Apple tvOS: 14.3
Lets hope that the fix is soon available in the Beta or better in a Release.

Since updating my plex server and plex app to the latest the issue at least for the time being seems to have resolved. I’ve watched several movies since the update and it doesn’t snap back to the very top when backing out of the move info screen.
Yeah I’ve still got this issue and have seen no signs of it being resolved
I am having this issue with the android app on my OnePlus 8 Pro and it is super annoying.
Fixed jump back to top with Apple TV, version 7.12. All is well again!
I’m still seeing it in 7.12 - the vertical instantiation of this bug does indeed seem to have gone, but the horizontal one, when scrolling from left to right e.g. in a long list of albums in artist view, etc. is still just the same. Suspect the same fix might need to be applied in both places maybe?
