I am experiencing this same problem and it’s annoying. Seems to have started happening on most recent AppleTV version. It only does it if you play something inside the folder (TV episode or Movie). If you just look at the contents and then back out, auto scroll doesn’t happen.

Same issue here. I have a long list of shows (but same happens to every library). This usually happens when I go through the library view, then view details of a show, then go back to the library view, and it just scrolls back up to the very top. I don’t even need to view a trailer. I can reproduce this every single time, in every library I have. Very annoying.

I am also having this happen with the recent update. Once you start a movie or play a song and then back out to the list of movies/music it auto scrolls back to the very beginning. I took a video of this behavior. If you scroll through to the T’s of your collection and choose a film or song to play and then back out to browse your collection some more it scrolls all the way back to the start of the list. There is no way to stop it with any of the remote buttons. You just have to sit and watch this auto scrolling.
I deleted and re-installed plex on the Apple Tv 4k as well and it hasnt changed the issue.
PMS Version 1.20.5.3562-eb17106d0 running on a 2018 mac mini.

I’m having the same problem. I do not have to play anything. If I click on a title to just see the info for the movie and then go back out, it scrolls all the way to the top of the library every time.
I’ve been having this happen to, I don’t even need to go into any series or movie. It happens in grid view, I will be scrolling down and it randomly goes all the way back to the top. Has anyone found a fix yet?
This is a horrible bug and completely ruins the app

Just piling on - yes, happening to me too. The first few times I didn’t realize what was happening. Then it became super annoying.
Seems it’s gotten worse but still on the same versions as originally reported - now it also happens when I just scroll through a list, when randomly the list scrolls back up to the top (which can’t be interrupted). I don’t even have to go into a title anymore.
What does it take for the team to acknowledge this as a bug and investigate? There doesn’t seem to be any other form of bug report/ticket system (as if nobody cared about user reported issues).
This has already been reported to the developers for investigation

The problem has changed. Now rather than scrolling in front of your eyes, the cursor returns to the “#” in the right side letter column. Plus you also get a ghost cursor back at the letter for the file you have just played, although it isn’t functional. It’s just as annoying, but in a different way.
The preferred behavior is for the cursor to remain at the previously chosen Movie or TV Show rather than returning to the top or redirecting to the letter menu.

This is happening to me as well now.
On top of this I am now also noticing that when i select a movie that the title of the movie is overlapping itself with a duplicate as it is scrolling. Weird.
With version 7.11 the scrolling bug seems to have been fixed, thank you. However, I can confirm the new behavior that now in the same scenario (returning to the movie list from a detail page) makes the cursor return to the “#” in the right side letter column. I agree that its position should remain at the last selected letter.
Actually, spoke too soon. It’s still happening every second or third time (no pattern that I could recognise so far) when going from a movie detail page back to the list, it still scrolls all the way back to the top. Not every time though. Still on v 7.11. It’s still annoying.

Thank you @DaveBinM - looks like bug got fixed with most recent ATV app update. I’ll also add that response seems snappier and I’m not having to reboot my ATV every time I went back into Plex. Nicecwork, please thank devs.
