Apple TV codec support

Hi,

 

Is it correct that the Apple Tv only support m4v files. So i have to encode everything to m4v if i want it to direct play? Is this also the case when Apple is allowing apps (official Plex client) on the Apple Tv. So extra codec support can't be added by third party developers?

okay so it only m4v, mp4 h264 video up to 1080p.

We all now that Apple will allow apps at some point. The only question is when... :)
