ASUSTOR remote access on/off

Server Version#: 1.40.1.8227
Player Version#: (Unsure where to find)
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

I have remote access on. I am using XFinity for my ISP. I have the ports forwarded on my personally owned router and I have a separate personally owned Modem. There are no XFinity devices here. The NAS is connected directly to the router with 2 LAN ports with balanced load.

Remote access usually says it is not working but after retrying several times I can get it to say it is connected. Afterward it goes right back to not working. I need some help here please.

Which means it’s never working.
The Plex remote access status indicator defaults to „green“ while it’s testing your remote access status.

Hey Tom,

Thanks for the response. It does work for the split moment. I can confirm that due to being able to access it within that moment. I have gone through those troubleshooting steps. None of which made any difference to the issue.

In case it helps. I am able to host servers of all sorts without an issue. I can host a game, email, etc servers perfectly fine. It seems to be an issue dedicated to Plex from what I can tell. Any other information I could retrieve to help?

The actual findings/output of the individual troubleshooting steps…

Hey Tom,

  1. I have the Flint 2 (GL-MT6000. Based off of the findings previously. It supports NAT. I have attempted to toggle. No differences made.
  2. Tried any sort of firewall, and ad-blocking options on router and NAS. When turned them off it made no difference.
  3. I have port forwarded. No difference made.
  4. I am using static on all of my devices including the NAS. No difference made.
  5. IP is reserved. No difference made.
  6. I manually choose a port of 40724. Made no difference.
  7. No double Nat. Double checked with the IP test method. They match. As expected of Xfinity.
  8. Made sure IP’s 54.170.120.91 and 46.51.207.89 were not blocked.
  9. I never enabled Jumbo Frames.
  10. I own my own equipment.

Please let me know if there is anything else.

Update:

Downloaded a plugin for my router for UPnP. Added port 40724 and retried connection. Connection stays connected for a longer period of time and seems more responsive when retrying. But still goes offline.

Just found my NAS has MTU by default at 1500. But it seems that is the lowest it will go… Is there anything I can do about this?
