Attempt to Share Library and friend isn't getting the "Something wonderful has happened" email. . .

So attempted to share a friend a library and he’s not getting the “Something wonderful has happened” email I’ve looked in his email it’s not in his spam or junk, it just never comes thru. Had him open up the app on the phone and request me as a friend and I accepted it and it shows us as being friends, but yet my server still isn’t coming up on his phone. Something broken this weekend or?

Check to see if plex is being blocked in their email… My wife did this to me recently, she blocked it in her email so I could not invite her.

I did accept his invitation to be a friend via the website but when I’m trying to share him this library he never sees it. I have had him try signing into someone elses phone that it is working on and same behavior on his account on their phone. Is there something on the back end you Plex gods can check?

he doesn’t need an email to accept an invitation to be friends. when he signs into his account in the web app he can accept it from Settings>Users under Friends.

Make sure the libraries are shared with him in the share settings. under his name friends does it say sharing X libraries with this friend ? If not click the pencil next to his name in Friends in the web app. and make sure the right ones are checked

I just noticed that it is showing “invited to share 1 library” on his profile vs on other family members it’s showing “sharing 1 library” with this friend. Still interesting that he didn’t receive the plex email . They are checked correctly, this has worked fine for 3 other family members so you would expect it would work the same for this friend. Wish I could say this was the first person I’ve shared with and I’m a Plex newbie, but I’ve been using it and installing it for 5 years at this point. I started way back in the 0.9.707 days. . . Don’t get me wrong I’m sure there are others who have been doing it longer then me, but this shouldn’t be rocket science. I didn’t have him log into PlexWeb though, I’ll try that in the morning and see what it does. Thanks for the idea BigWheel “when he signs into his account in the web app he can accept it from Settings>Users under Friends.”

Logged in as him into Plex/Web and as him it showed I was sharing him 3 libraries but then it also had my name as a pending invite. So I accepted the invite and all is right in the world. Seems like a glitch on the back end.
