Audio Device setting reverts back to ‘Auto Select Device’ after a power cycle of my receiver and/or TV. I need to set this every time I use Plex for Windows to get audio pass-through to my receiver.
As a workaround while we wait for this bug to be fixed, is there a config file we can edit or a script we can run to help make this parameter persistent?
I have the same issue, when my Denon receiver powers off, the audio device is removed in windows (as expected). On powering back on the device shows as expected.
Plex however doesn’t remember this setting so everytime we want the correct sound we need to go and override this setting.
I have the same issue, running PMP v1.39 (most current as I’m typing this) and PMS (lol) v1.25.0.5282
running win10 Pro 64bit, latest OS version 21H2 and OS build 19044.1348 all on the same machine which is a gaming laptop. (well older one I should say)
HP OMEN i7-8750H with 32 GB of ram and a 1060 GTX Nvidia GeForce graphics card.
My laptop is then routed via HDMI using a Monster Ultra High Speed capable of 60hz since that’s all my laptop can do, to my Onkyo TX-NR757 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver, which is then routed to my LG OLED55CXPUA TV using another ultra high speed HDMI cable that’s capable of doing 120hz.
All my media is on a Seagate SATA 8tb external drive usb’d into my laptop.
Every time I turn on PMP I have to go into the settings and then to the player settings for audio and it will always revert back to " auto select device"
I then have to change the auto select to my receiver and then audio device kind to HDMI then channels to 7.1 and then checking all the passthrough options available.
It’s kinda annoying but it should keep the settings regardless of my TV and receiver shutting down. My laptop stays on all the time since I use the PMS on it as well to keep my remote streaming available at all times…
Please fix it as I have been using PMS and PMP for probably going on 2 years now and loving the crap out of it…very cool for the non tech savvy’s that I have on my account…
