Actually, I don’t know if this is server or back office related.
I go to www.plex.tv and log in. I click on the Account Settings menu.
Under Authorized Devices I see
1 instance Garage (FireTV4K)
2 instances of AFKA (I think this is the NVDA player)
7 instances of Edge. (figures…)
2 Keiths Plex (my server)
1 Amazon Alexa (probably the Alexa Skills)
3 Plex Auth App (huh?)
What I don’t see is the Master device (my newest FireTV4K Max hardware)
I linked it yesterday. But I was asked to link it again today.
This all seems suspicious. Why would I have multiples of my Plex server, Edge players, Auth devices, etc?
How can I delete redundant devices?
Should I reset my Plex account and start over?
Thanks
AFTKA?
AFTKA = Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max.
See Fire TV Device Specifications: Overview
You should only have one instance of your server.
You’ll sometimes see two if you’ve changed hardware, unclaimed/re-claimed, etc. One probably has an old date compared to the other. You can delete the older one. Worst case is that it unclaims your server and you have to re-claim it.
I always have a lot of web instances. They usually have different versions, as Plex updates the version on app.plex.tv. If I login from a different PC, using the browser on my tablet, etc, it will make another entry. A lot of them are usually days or weeks old and you can delete them. Worst case is you have to login again.
No. Nothing nefarious happening.
Thanks, Mr. FordGuy!
I wonder if it is politically unacceptable to name a FireTV4K Max “Master”. Because that name doesn’t want to stick. (But it is so named on the Amazon site…) I will try a different name…
Something is not right. I am tenacious , if nothing else.
