Server Version#: 1.19.5.3112
Player Version#: 5.1.0 (called “Client” on the TV? Otherwise “Platform” is 3.8.0)

Plex asks me to link each time I open it on my LG TV. I thought this may be linked to ‘Automatic Sign In’ being disabled in Settings > General but if I click to enable the option the next time I open the same menu it has disabled itself.
“Automatic Sign-In” and the app linking are separate things. Auto Sign-in is more like “stay on current user profile selected unless I change”. If the app is dropping its settings, that will be disabled the next time you check it (because the setting is client-specific and cannot work if the app is not signed into a Plex account any longer).
Yeah, part of leaving is saving a value to storage that indicates it’s left, part of going in also involves that (as does saving settings in the previous app), so it’s not clear why saving settings is suddenly an issue.
We’re working on a way to clear/reset all settings which should help, but in the meantime a factory reset will achieve that, but will also affect other apps/settings.
I uninstalled Plex, turned off the TV, and unplugged it for 10 seconds. Once it was back on again and Plex was reinstalled it logged me straight in… no linking required.
So my issue was fixed, but now maybe the fact I didn’t need to link is undesired behaviour?
What I have noticed is the Older players settings are not carried over to the new Preview WebOS app therefore you must navigate to settings at bottom of left menu and enter again for the preview to behave as intended. In my opinion it’s also good practice to Power cycle after a opt in.
Interesting! If I’m honest I would not expect this as a user (“uninstall” usually means “remove all trace”) but that sounds like it an LG decision, rather than a Plex one?
Are settings saving properly now as well?
Yes, thank you, all seems to be fixed. I continue to be astonished by the high level of support!

This is a good point, and could perhaps be added to the “new interface” screen? Funnily enough I didn’t opt-in to this so I assumed it was out of the preview stage now.
