I’m trying to entice my family to move away from netflix and use plex more.
In netflix, it has an autoplay trailer mode which displayed when the user holds on the specific movie banner for a couple of seconds, can we do something similar in plex, ideally to run the trailer in picture-in-picture mode?
I know this is not for everyone, but I wonder whether this is possible, and potentially be able to set the number of seconds prior the trailer runs too.
I activate Netflix Streaming once every year or two to see if that ‘Feature’ has a switch to disable it yet - it never does, so I cancel Netflix Streaming until the next test run.
When an app becomes so overbearing, so dedicated to be the annoying house guest, beating you senseless with every single click and refusing to STFU - development has run amok.
What I fear; somebody at Plex will want this - make it happen - and not put a switch on it - like almost everything else they do.
Not at my house… no settings what-so-ever.
No Settings - Roku App
No Settings - FireTV App
No Settings - Mobile App
Show up on Netflix - have your brains bashed out.
Top notch development with a singular mission - show you the first 10 seconds of every item in their inventory.
Joke’s on Netflix - I download everything I want to see - and, so far, Plex doesn’t beat my brains out while trying to get to it. <–the result is Netflix gets $9 every few years - instead of $9 every month.
A’ight… I’ll take your word for it. In a few years I’ll find out if that works… and we’ll find out if it cures: The Shrinking Credits Syndrome.
Netflix has had their test run already this year.
Perhaps by that time they’ll give the audio a 40% boost - so it’ll be up with all the rest of the audio on everything I watch.
I’m not, but I wouldn’t have a problem with it’s addition provided it could be disabled. I’m only replying to help bring the post back up to the top, and potentially get some fresh eyes on it that may not have seen it before.
