Avoid grouping files - how to rename these files?

Unfortunately I have two files which have ** - S03E281 - ** in it.
Absolutely no chance to change one of them to 282 because there are hundrets or episodes + thumbnails in correct order following.

How can I rename these episodes so Plex doesn’t group them up and they are still displayed in order in my TV Show Library?

If it’s not possible to show it in order > ok.
But then how to rename it so it#s not grouping up and I still know what’s going on?

What happens if you Split them?

Unfortunately not possible

Are they the same show?

Yes. Same show. The title is different. But unfortunately not the S03E281 number (and can’t chamnge it to 282 because of the following numbers).

You can’t split individual episodes. Why are there 2 episodes with the same number? That seems like the problem to me.

This is the problem - I know.
As said, it’s like this, I can’t change it because of the hundrets of following episodes.
It’s coming from Youtube and the uploader did an error when naming it.

But this solves not my question how to rename this file so it stays in S03 and it’s listed without merging.

Plex as no way to handle duplicate files. The only way to unmerge them and still be able to access both files would be to rename one of them to something else. Personally, I would use episode 999 to indicate it’s something special/different.

S03E999

I used S03E000 now and changed the title so I know this episode follows after 281.
This is kind of bad code design if splitting is not possible in my opinion.

Many people would like to see that since years.
