Bandwith limit to 1000kbits Plex on Shield TV 2019

Hi

I am using Plex on Shield and when trying to stream over internet I got the message about a limit of 1000kbits bandwith

How this limit is set and how can I change it.

Thanks for your help
Jules

1mbps is the upper bandwidth limit for Relay connections if a user doesn’t have a Plex pass.
(Plex pass subscribers get 2mbps)

A relay connection is a kind of band-aid if your server is not directly accessible.

Thanks OttoKerner,

If I understand correctly any Streaming outside of my Home will be limitted to 1mbps or 2mbps (with a plex pass) ?? It is very slow…

Thanks
Jules

I forgot to ask how can we stream outside my home with a bigger bandwith?

Thanks
Jules

Maybe it is because I can not have a direct connection. Do you know why I got a red ‘X’ beside my external IP address:

Otto’s point is:
If your remote access setup has issues, Plex will attempt an “indirect” connection. In that case, the communication will not be between your server and the client but it’ll be “relayed” through a server of Plex. Those relayed/indirect connections are limited to 1 Mbps (2 Mbps for Plex Pass members).

There’s a few rare situations, where users are only able to establish connections through those relays. Most of the time it means there’s something wrong with your remote access configuration (be that your Plex configuration, your router configuration or a restriction applied by your ISP). Hence Otto linked the remote access troubleshooting support article for your reference.

If you want to sort this out, you’ll need to identify what’s causing your remote access problem. On top of the basic troubleshooting, we have this post in the tips & tricks section on how to pin down the issue (w/ potential solutions).

Thanks

Finally it works by manually setting port forwarding in my router.
