Hi all, just got plex and love the interface. I don’t seem to be able to get bitsreaming working properly for anything above just vanilla dts. I can’t get trueHD or DTS-HD masters to light up on my receiver. Any help is appreciate. I’m using windows 10, I’ve tried the app from the windows store as well as openPHT (this came the closest). I also bought the upgraded version to no avail.
I should also add that my bitstreaming is confirmed working through MPC just for reference
Download Plex Media Player. It is freely available here under ‘Downloads’.
Hi thanks for your reply! I don’t think PMP supports bitstreaming?
I was able to get it working with Kodi. Perhaps higher audio formats aren’t supported?

What makes you think that?
PMP is the best software for bitstreaming.
It was built with bitstreaming in mind.

Not true. As long as your HDMI port supports the required bitrate (and you are not on a Mac, which restricts bitstreaming), you can bitstream the ‘higher’ surround formats.
Which platform/OS are you on and which version of PMP have you installed?
Hey thanks again for the reply. I guess it must be a setting then? Because it doesn’t seem to be decoding at my receiver properly no matter I use or what I do. PMP I’m using version 1.4.3.3433 it appears. I’ve also tried open PHT which gave me 5.1 dts but I wasn’t able to get trueHD and DTS-HD master. My OS is windows 10.

The current version of PMP is 1.2.2.555
PMP is not included in a default Plex Server installation!
When you start it for the first time, you must make sure it is in fullscreen/tv mode, or you won’t be able to configure the audio settings.

Hey you were %100 right thanks. I didn’t notice the settings because it doesn’t show the high quality codecs until I manually selected HDMI (even though I was streaming through HDMI already) which seems strange. But it seems all the frond end software work like this. Anyhow, thanks for the help!
