Black screen of death after last update

Server Version#: 1.32.5.7349
Player Version#: Roku Ultra version 7.6 build 1, plex for android 9.28.0.3162, and the web player in chrome directly from the server (to rule out network issues).

My issue is when I try to play almost anything I get a black screen with no sound or video.

The roku acts like it is playing back a movie. It shows how long it’s played and how much time is left but there is nothing there.

On android it just hangs and never starts playing anything.

This behavior is random. I thought it might have something to do with the original file sizes. I had some fairly large 4k files that were close to 20gb. Then I started to notice it with 1080p and even 480p files. So I’m not even sure.

I changed the server settings to 8mbps 1080p and leave smaller files the way they are but this didn’t help.

from a web browser directly on the server most these files are working. but all my roku devices are on the local network with the server and I have a rather high end wifi router that can handle the traffic.

I turned on debug and got this in the server1.log.

thats were is stops

the plex media server.log continues on also but I don’t see actual errors.

I wont post the logs to a public forum.

ffmpeg is only running at about 20% cpu usage. I should be able to easily handle two or 3 streams in this system.

Thanks

After further testing and changing some more settings. Everything is working accept for roku. I have 4 of these so I would like them to work correctly.

ok I tracked it down.

I shut of hardware accelerated video encoding and now things work again.
