I also have the blank screen problem.

Got to the bottom of the issue last night. I’ll have an early testing build to share with you folks later in my day.

Edit: ran into a complication getting a build out. Not forgotten just a bit out of reach for today/tonight (Mon).

Marking this as solved only to bubble up this request for testing suggestion to the top of the thread.

Hello everyone I’ve shared a forum preview, v1.2.1, that should specifically address this issue. Please give it a try and let me know how it goes. Thanks!

No more black screen on my Mac Pro running 10.3.6, but as soon as I signed in, the application unexpectedly quit. And now if I launch it it tries to load its home screen and then immediately unexpectedly quits. Every time.

Sample crash log attached:

Plex_2019-08-27-214553_Mac-Pro-2014.crash.zip (27.8 KB)

@latext That crash is in com.druide.Antidote.TexteursOSAX. You may want to try disabling that and try again to see if the crash reproduces. If it does then that crash log may be more valuable to examine.

This release fixed it for me. I can now sign in and stream movies

I might try temporarily disabling that scripting addition to see if it makes a difference, but I cannot afford to function without it. So it’s back to the web interface for me, I guess.

Plex-1.2.1.874-8aa13791-x86_64.dmg works fine on now.

Works for me as well, thank you.

Worked for me - no more black screen. However, I guess I won’t be using it. No ability to control using keyboard, and the UI is unusably small on a TV. Feeling disappointed overall if this is the direction of Plex after so many years of being useful.

It’s a desktop app, not a big screen app. If you need the latter, stick with PMP

Hi folks, just a heads up that 1.3 launched with the changes previewed above in 1.2.1. Thanks a lot for you testing help!

For the record, I was able to work around this problem with the help of the Antidote/Druide folks. In a nutshell:

Plex app works fine now! Thanks for the crash report analysis, which put me in the right direction right away.
